FAQS

Question: Can RVI repair my power supplies without documentation?
Answer: Yes, RVI can develop repair processes using a qualification lot. You submit a number of repairable power supplies and one good/working unit. We analyze the units and submit a quote. If the quote is accepted, we develop the repair process and repair all units received. When documentation (electrical schematics, test specifications) is available developing the repair process is much easier. Establishing a technical contact within your company is very beneficial.

Question: How is pricing established?
Answer: We base our pricing on the average time it takes to repair the test lots plus the cost of materials used. In some instances the pricing is reviewed after an adequate volume of units.

Question: How long is RVI’s warranty?
Answer: RVI warrants the entire unit for 1 year for all refurbished power supplies and 90 days for a repair to include just what was repaired on the unit from the date of invoice.

Question: What happens to unrepairable units?
Answer:  We have a number of options, return them to the customer, scrap in house or salvage non age sensitive components for use on your future products.

Question:  Are units tracked through your system?
Answer: All units repaired by RVI are tracked in our system and a date code stamp is placed on the unit for warranty purposes.

Question: How do I get a Return Material Authorization (RMA)?
Answer: Contact an RVI Account Manager.
